This Week in Vinyl: Bill Evans – Trio 65

It’s my wife’s fault really. Really. Knowing my love of all things music and my hate for all things digital and internetty (he says posting on the internet), she got me this cool retro looking record player for Christmas. Yadda Yadda Yadda, I went from zero to OCD vinyl collecting in about a week and a half. This week the jazz collection gets a little bigger. Part of the fun I’ve found hunting for vinyl is seeking out records that have made an impact on me in one way or another. This record is the first Bill Evans album I ever heard and has had a significant influence on how I play and hear Piano. It’s surprisingly rare, and im pretty excited to have found one in really good condition.

  1. Love love Bill Evans – how in the hell did you manage to find such a rarity of a vinyl in such condition? I’m impressed. Whatever strings you’ve managed to pull, it is a worthy addition to your ever-growing vinyl collection, I’m sure!

    1. I’ve been asking myself the same question. It’s been a regular in my eBay searches for a while and this one just happened to come up for auction. I put an obnoxiously high bid in for it and fortunately didn’t have to pay that much.
